We call them the "Fantastic Seven" because we are currently learning social skills and using a super hero theme. First we have Halie, a spunky, 12 year-old girl who loves sports, especially football and basketball and also loves to color with her markers and listens to music and watches fun cartoons and movies too. Halie is a seventh grader this year and is excited to go to the Middle School next year where she will reunite with several of her friends who were in our class last year. Hailie gives a special spark to our program and is full of life and energy and has a great sense of humor as well.

Next we have Zack, a sweet, thoughtful and fun boy who loves to read and play games outside like baseball and soccer. He adds so much support and fun to our days in the Severe class and loves to help his teachers and staff whenever he is asks and often does nice things for us, even without being asked. He also loves animals, especially horses and loves to be a leader in our classroom and help the younger students. He also gets to prepare for middle school life next year and is excited to to there in a few more months.

Our next seventh grader is the unsinkable Max, who we call our Charmer, because he is always so friendly and fun to be around. He loves to draw and to color pictures and is very artistic and creative. Max also loves to help people and always offers to assist other students and my staff in all of our activities. He, like Zach is a good leader and is such a gentleman with the ladies. He always lets them go first, opens doors for them and makes them feel special. That is why Max has so many friends in our school and is loved by all who know him.

Our last seventh grader is Brach. Brach is such an affectionate, thoughtful young man. He always loves to be included in group activities and especially loves to run, jump and do other physical games outside and in the classroom. One of his favorites is Musical Chairs. He also likes playing basketball, softball and other sports.

The first of our three sixth graders is Carleen. She loves to color, draw and do other fun arts and crafts. She also likes to watch tv, movies, listen to music and listen to her teacher or staff read fun stories. Carleen is a very sweet and friendly girl. She enjoys going to lunch with her lunch buddies and having friends come to the classroom to work with her. She is a great addition to our class this year!

The second student who is in 6th grade in our class is Tyler. Tyler is humble, nice to all others and works very hard at everything he does. He loves to play on the computer when all his work is done and to put things together, like jigsaw puzzles and other fun games. Tyler also likes to go to Gecko time and learn new skills. He is a great helper in the classroom and always does his best.

Our next 6th grader is Dillon. Dillon has the nicest smile you've ever seen. And he comes to school almost every single day with that wonderful smile on. Dillon loves his Science and PE classes and also enjoys going to lunch with his friends. He especially his lunch buddy, Thomas, who comes to join him for lunch on Mondays and Fridays. Dillon has made great progress in his Reading, Math, Social Skills and his ability to stay on task in the classroom. We are very glad to have him as part of our class.

Two new students who have come to join us our Gabe and Marilyn. Gabe come for first and sixth period and Marilyn comes as a peer tutor during second and fifth periods. They both are doing so well and are quite helpful in our classroom.

Our "Fantastic Seven" Students!

Now I'd like you to meet our wonderful group of students this year. He is a leader of the Trunnell family that gave comfort to wounded soldiers in the Civil War, a patriarch and father of fourteen children, a loving husband, father and patient slave owner and he left us, his progeny, a legacy to cherish. After researching Henry and his children and grandchildren, I have come to love him and appreciate him as if he were alive today. That's what happens when you do family history work and I want to dedicate a good portion of my life from now on to unifying and doing the temple ordinances for all the Trunnells I can. If this blog can be a means to that goal then it will more than have served its purpose. Thank you, Henry for living the life you did and for giving us a legacy to live by.

<img style="DISPLAY: block; I know very little about keeping a blog but Annette, Lisa and Mary Anne have had such fun with theirs that they decided I needed one too. Well, not seeing much use for one, until I thought of my love for family history work, I seemed to have now found a great reason and purpose in writing on my own blog and hope that you will visit often. This way, Annette, Mary Anne and I can help organize and expand our current family histories, compile needed family file names and give you all a fair running account of names completed, family trees, PAF files, old photographs and other useful information.

Annette is now doing daily indexing work and has completed over two thousand names in indexing. She is trying to help complete the Canadian Census of 1916 and has found many interensting names and occupations of the peoples of Skaketuwan, Manitoba and Alberta provinces. You may remember that some of our May relatives lived in Alberta, Canada and we hope to soon find some of these families as well. Indexing is a lot of fun and very easy to learn and their are very good tutoring lessons on lds.org if any of you are interested in trying it.

For now, I have taken a short break from family file names submissions and am helping a few families in our ward learn how to do their research and submission work. Every week a new and rewarding experience comes my way. I have shared a few of these on our family website and hope to share others here. I am also pursing a program to get more youth involved in family history and am working with the leadership of our stake in accomplishing that goal. I read an intriguing article in this months Ensign, right near the end of the issue that talks about a young adult stake in Logan that did 100,000 indexing names in one year and next year they have set a goal to do 200,000. The Church needs more family history workers and hope to have 300,000 indexers by next year. I think presently they are at about 170,000. Non-members can also participate.

If you happen to log on my blog (that sounds pretty funny), please leave me a comment so I know who you are and if you are interested in learning more about family history. I will be posting more current and detailed information on our family history progress, who is doing what and having photos posted that may help in your search and understanding of family histories as well.

Take care all and know I love and miss you and wish for your happiness and well-being always,

Heber
PS I will put more on soon!

I'm Blogging!

I'm welcoming myself for the 1st time to my very own blog, and while I'm at it, I'm welcoming any of you who might want to come visit.
